Library Facilities
CHEVALIER LEARNING COMMONS (LG1)
The Learning Commons (LC) is your learning ground. It opens 24 hours a day during the Fall and Spring terms (may vary in response to bad weather or other urgent situations). At the LC Help Desk, you can find help for using different facilities. There are 4 zones:
CREATIVE MEDIA ZONE: for printing, binding, laser cutting, photography, video making/editing, etc.
E-Learning Zone: classrooms (with computers) and tutorial spaces (with TVs) for classes and tutorials
REFRESHMENT ZONE: sofa, coffee tables, vending machines for drinks and snacks
STUDY ZONE: 17 Group Study Rooms with big screens (TVs or interactive projectors) and open study area for group and individual study
SELF-SERVICE LOCKERS (LG1)
- 32 lockers are located inside the Learning Commons on LG1 (near the restrooms).
- Octopus-operated, FREE OF CHARGE for the first TWO hours and $2 per hour thereafter.

NAP PODS (LG1)
- Two nap pods are now on LG1 Media Resources area.
- Recline at a comfortable angle, with ambient music and diffuse colored lighting for relaxing and refreshing your mind and body.
- After 20 minutes, the pod will gently wake you up with increasing light and pulsations.

SELF-SERVICE TECH ITEM KIOSK (LG1)
A 24/7, self-service kiosk with 90 compartments for borrowing and returning popular technology items such as headphones, adapters, and charging cables.
G/F
BOOK STERILIZERS (small unit on G/F, heavy-duty unit on LG3 & LG4)
Ultraviolet (UV-C) book sterilizers are available at the G/F Circulation Counter, LG3, and LG4. It kills 99.9% of surface bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19.
INFORMATION COMMONS

Workspaces for individuals and groups.
Computers, a smart desktop scanner, 3D printers and a 3D scanner for coursework and extracurricular activities.
ROOMS FOR GROUP USE
46 Group Study Rooms (all floors) each has a whiteboard and LCD monitor with VGA/ HDMI cable for laptop connection.
3 Media & Discussion Rooms (LG1) each has DVD/ videocassette players and LCD television with VGA/ HDMI cable for laptop connection.
1 Interview Room for online interviews/ video conferencing by individuals or small groups.
STUDY AREA (ALL FLOORS)
Study carrels, buddy pods and reading tables are available on different floor to provide individual or social study spaces.
WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION
Wireless connection to the campus network via eduroam for students who have a mobile device equipped for wireless connection and a valid Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) network account.
3-in-1 Photocopiers, Printers and Scanners (All floors)
- Only accept Octopus cards for payment, scanning is free
- Copying, printing and scanning: B/W or color, A4 or A3
